Engagement and Utilization of a Complete Remote Digital Care Program for MSK Pain Management in Urban and Rural Areas Across the US: Longitudinal Cohort Study

Study Overview

This is the first study assessing the impact of a multimodal digital program for musculoskeletal (MSK) pain management in rural versus urban settings. Despite the inherent health inequities between patients from rural and urban areas (such as obesity, older age, lower education, etc.), we observed high and similar satisfaction and engagement rates, along with significant improvements in pain, mental health and productivity in both groups. This study showcases how Sword Health’s digital care program could mitigate inequities by improving accessibility to MSK care, regardless of geographic location.
