Managing Musculoskeletal Pain in Older Adults through a Digital Care Solution: A Secondary Analysis of a Prospective Clinical Study
Study Overview
This study focuses on the suitability of Sword’s digital care programs for managing chronic MSK pain in older adults. While digital programs are being widely adopted, older adults often encounter specific barriers when it comes to using such interventions. These include challenges in accessing and becoming comfortable with technology, limited internet accessibility, a perception of lacking personal connection in virtual care, and a belief that remote interventions are not sufficiently effective. This paper presents evidence that Sword’s digital care programs can be appropriate for older adults. We are able to show higher engagement among older adults compared to their younger counterparts, resulting in comparable clinical outcomes across age groups.
